User Experience
Setting up the HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) was described as a straightforward process by most users. After installing an SSD, connecting via Ethernet, and following the app’s instructions, users were able to get their devices up and running in no time. The app provides step-by-step guidance, which is particularly beneficial for those who may not be tech-savvy.
The BionicMind™ AI is a standout feature, delivering on its promise to filter out irrelevant movements such as pets while maintaining sensitivity to human activity. Many users reported a marked decrease in false alerts, leading to a more comfortable experience at home.
In terms of connectivity, many experienced a noticeable improvement over previous HomeBase models. With fewer instances of cameras going offline and more reliable notifications, the HomeBase 3 seems to have addressed many of the pain points found in earlier versions.
However, some users did face challenges during the initial setup, particularly when syncing older cameras with the new system. While the majority found it manageable, it may require some patience to get everything functioning perfectly.

The HomeBase S380 (HomeBase 3) has proven itself to be a worthy investment for those looking to enhance their home security systems. With its robust features, including expansive local storage, advanced AI filtering, and strong encryption, it stands out in the crowded market of home security solutions.

I just got mine and transitioned all my HomeBase devices smoothly. However, my doorbell chime dongle isn’t being recognized. If this device delivers on its promise to unify non-HomeBase devices into a complete ecosystem, it will be exactly what Eufy users have been wanting for years! I’m excited about the device integration set for this month (October).

This product is fantastic! It supports a 2.5-inch HDD up to 16TB, and the added AI feature is great—it alerts me every time I walk by a camera, even the older ones. I had numerous problems with the previous generation homebase and my internet (I use Starlink), which caused my cameras to frequently go offline, and the door sensor tone wouldn’t work, requiring resets every few weeks. So far, this new unit has paired with my 2C pros without any issues, unlike homebase 2, which struggled. The alarm and chimes are also significantly louder now.
The most impressive improvement, aside from resolving all my previous issues like non-functional Ethernet and random camera disconnects, is its ability to ignore animals while still detecting cars and people. I have a 100+ pound German Shepherd, and the camera used to be triggered constantly by him, but that’s no longer a problem. It has yet to miss detecting a person. This has transformed my previous rating from 3/5 to a perfect 5/5 for my system.
With the old homebase, I could set it to detect people, animals, or all motion, but if set to people only, it would miss cars. Now, I don’t have to choose between modes, and the notification volume is much improved.
This review is early, but I’m really enjoying the unit so far, and I’ll provide updates if any issues arise. If you have a homebase 1-2, I highly recommend upgrading to this model; it significantly improves on many fronts and addresses 99% of my complaints about the previous version. The only downside is that it doesn’t support all cameras, like the pan and tilt. If that were included, it would be perfect. Currently, if you have Wi-Fi cameras and set away mode, you also need to set the homebase to away, which is inconvenient for me since I don’t like recording inside when I’m home. I set the alarm to away when I’m out and the cameras to record, but having to switch both the homebase and cameras twice a day is a hassle. This is more of an app issue that I hope will be resolved.
If you’ve read this far, just buy it. You won’t regret it!

I reached out to tech support (spoke with Justin) prior to getting started, and it was extremely helpful. I found out that I needed to remove each camera to sync with the new home base, which was the most challenging part. The rest was straightforward, and the app guided me through the process. I appreciate that the AI identifies humans and provides close-ups of each one. This feature would have been invaluable during a recent theft at my camp. I’m pleased I made the upgrade. Thanks for your assistance, Justin.

It took a while to make all my cameras compatible, but now that everything is connected, it works wonderfully!

I approached this purchase with caution and spent a lot of time researching and reviewing before finally deciding to buy it after about two months. Here’s my experience: the setup was seamless. I installed the SSD drive, connected the Cat6 cable, went to the app, and followed the instructions. Wow, what a difference that made!
Yes, you need to take down your cameras, press the sync button until it beeps, and add them back, but it was a simple process. I’m really happy with it; it works fantastically without any issues. I went through the settings and turned off notifications while I’m home, and that resolved any concerns I had. Was it worth complaining about? Not at all. Some people might benefit from hiring a professional for installation instead of leaving negative reviews due to their own lack of understanding, which can mislead others like me who genuinely want to purchase the product.
I’ve noticed that many negative reviews seem to come from those who simply don’t know what they’re doing. This is a great product and it works perfectly. Thank you, Eufy. As long as you’ve addressed your major past issues, I forgive you. Well done!

The integrated AI in this product effectively prevents false alerts from trees, clouds, and stop signs. The doorbell chimes function well, and the only necessary wire is the power wire, providing greater flexibility in placement. The hard drive slot ensures ample storage with the additional 2TB SSD. Excellent settings are available to optimize your detection area. I highly recommend it for those with compatible doorbell cameras.

Setting up the homebase3 was quite simple; just stick to the instructions. I installed it first, then added two C220 solar cameras and one C210 camera. It took around 14 minutes for the homebase to integrate each camera, but it functions well and retains all the data from each one.

I’ve only had it for a week, and so far, I’m really enjoying it. I used to have Google Cameras and was paying $6 a month, but when they announced a price increase for their cloud service, I started looking for other options. This one is just right for me.

I set this up and installed it without any issues, but the power cord was too short. I was informed that only a 19-foot extension cord would work, which was disappointing. I ended up using a 100-foot extension camera line, and it functions perfectly. My only concern is that I need more than one camera and a doorbell, but the cost is quite high, so it will take some time. It also needs to offer personal cloud options for customers who already have them. The video quality is excellent, with no lag or interruptions; it continues recording until there’s no longer a visual of an object. Thanks for the great service!

The instructions were easy to follow for someone like me who isn’t very tech-savvy. Whenever I needed assistance, their team was incredibly generous with their time, guiding me through my difficulties. An exceptional company with excellent products.

Hands down, best security system. This is 10x better than any other brand, I tried Swann, Ring, and Arlo over the years and finally landed on Eufy for the $0 monthly fee and privacy protection. Both great reasons, but if you’re also a stickler for wifi security, Homebase 3 takes the cake.
