Excellent Durable Futon Frame! Hello, I am a Walmart Sparks Reviewer and I am doing a review on the Dorel Metal Futon Frame, which came in an exquisite color black.

It’s a very nice frame and is very durable and flexible. The instructions are fairly easy to read. However, it does require at least two people to handle with assembly because the parts are kind of heavy, and it will make it much quicker to get the frame set up. Basically, majority of the parts are already pre-assembled, it’s just a few screws and minor parts that need to be attached for final completion. Now, please don’t forget this is just a frame, it does not come with the mattress.

What I love best about this frame is that I can turn it into a day bed, use it as a little nice sitting arrangement for my patio or carport, and I can use it as an extra seating space in the living room or den area. It’s also quite nice to have for guest sleepovers, and for outdoor decoration with a few colorful pillows. I do have one suggestion. If you are using it outdoors it does sits kind of low, but you can always double pad it to make it sit a little higher or place it under a concrete slab.

There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about the Dorel Metal Futon Frame. It’s very nice and made an excellent addition to my home.

Strong but light-weight frame. This futon comes in a smaller-than-you-might-think box but don’t be discouraged all the pieces for the futon are in it. Upon opening the box, I was happy with the deep black color of the futon frame. It’s made of metal and comes with everything you need for the frame. We did need to purchase the futon mattress separately. The directions for putting the futon frame together were good and I was able to put it together by myself in about two hours with a few short breaks. The screws and bolts packaging is well-organized but could have the names of the hardware on the side that you take the pieces out of. The metal pieces of the futon are strong but light-weight. I didn’t get the impression that the black finish was going to scratch off anytime soon. Maybe after a few years of wear or scratching it with something sharp might do it. I did have an issue with a few pieces being bent. This made it difficult to put them in the right place during assembly. It took extra time to get these bent pieces fixed (bending them with pliers) to finish putting it all together. As for a guest bed, it is a nice size that would fit two children comfortably or two smaller adults tightly. The folding and opening of the futon is easy and I had no problems getting it adjusted into a bed or chair position. No one has yet to sleep on it yet but the kids do enjoy having extra seating in our basement where they can hangout for some time to themselves.

Modern look-perfect for small spaces! Futon frame. The dhp metal futon frame is black in color. The futon can hold up to 600 pounds. Assembly is required. Tools and screws needed are included. All screws are labeled for easier assembly. The estimated assembly time is 2 hours and suggest 2 people. I assembled by myself and it took about 3 hours. This was my first time assembling a futon and I found it to be challenging. If you have 2 people I definitely recommend that. You will need to be patient during assembly. The tools included are difficult to turn and tighten all of the screws. Many of the screws were difficult to install and this is why assembly took so long. The finished product was worth the effort. The frame is very sturdy and has a nice modern look to it with clean lines and a shiny black finish. None of the metal scratched during assembly which was great. The futon is very easily changed from the sofa to the bed. The mechanics move easily and I am very happy with the finished product. This does not include the mattress. It can use the 6in or 8in full futon mattress. It has hooks on the front to keep the mattress from sliding. I have ordered the 8in mattress from the same manufacturer but it has not yet arrived. We put this in a game room and it will provide ample seating for gamers. This futon is perfect for smaller spaces and would also work well for an office that doubles as guest room. Although the assembly is challenging the end product is worth the hassle.

Sturdy frame! This frame was fairly easy to put together. My husband did it by himself with no problems. The frame has good support for a mattress. Futon frames are usually just slats that you will feel through the mattress when sleeping on them. This frame has great gridding to help with that issue. My only complaint is it’s a bit low to the ground. But other than that it’s sturdy and easy to use.

Happy with this Futon. The quality seems to be very good. We havent really used it much because of the room its in. It definitely needs two people to put it together and two people to convert it to a bed. Its pretty heavy.

nice futon. I assemble all of the furniture in my house so I’m used to doing stuff like this. the installation process was about as good as it gets. the parts were clearly labeled the instructions were easy to understand. i used my own hex tool for this. Took me about an hour and a half to assemble but i also had my 4 and 6 year old “help” me. the materials are solid quality mattress is great.

UNCOMFORTABLE!!! This futon looks nice and is easy to assemble. I assembled it by myself in 2 hours. As far as sleeping on it, forget it! Very hard and uncomfortable. Definitely NOT worth $600 . I would rate no stars, but as it is required, I gave one. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with this purchase.

Okay. Sturdy well made and perfect for one bedroom apartment and have Xtra sleeping for 2people and a couch for $600 and change!
Only downside is Grama ain’t gonna move this couch!

Where is my mattress ? It came without a mattress . They didn’t warm me that would happen . They advertised a mattress with the futon on the picture . It didn’t say My futon would come without the mattress .
