PLZ Single Din Car Stereo Review: A Game-Changer for Your Ride!

The PLZ Single Din Car Stereo is an impressive addition to any vehicle looking to modernize its audio experience. The installation process is straightforward, making it accessible even for those who aren’t particularly tech-savvy. Many users have appreciated how quickly the unit connects to their devices, whether it be for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and the wireless functionality is a significant bonus for ease of use.
Sound quality is a standout feature. The built-in DSP and 10-band EQ allow for a customized audio experience, providing crisp highs and deep bass, especially with the inclusion of subwoofers. While some users noted that the microphone quality for Bluetooth calls could be improved, the overall audio performance surpasses expectations for both music and navigation.
The 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen is vibrant and responsive, delivering a visually appealing interface for navigation and media playback. Users have reported a slight delay with the backup camera, but the quality of the video is satisfactory for parking and reversing, adding an extra layer of safety.
One of the most appreciated features is the ability to customize the boot logo and background, although some users found the process a bit cumbersome. A suggestion for improvement would be to include preset logos to streamline this experience.
The overall connectivity options are robust, offering multiple inputs and outputs, which enhance the versatility of the unit. Additionally, the fast charging capability is a practical touch for those on the go.
In conclusion, the PLZ Single Din Car Stereo offers fantastic value for its price, balancing quality, functionality, and user-friendly features. It’s a solid investment for anyone looking to upgrade their car’s audio system. Highly recommended for both casual listeners and those seeking a more immersive sound experience.

Amazing buy!! This radio is great if you don’t want to go with a larger double din radio, or can’t due to space(in my case an older ford truck) It has wireless and wired Apple CarPlay, AM/FM radio, and yes for non Apple users it can run just on Bluetooth audio as well. It has the option to have front and rear cameras. The only downside I have come across so far is that the integrated microphone for calls isn’t the best and there’s no port for adding an external one. Other than that I can’t complain!

Worked great in my F430. Easy install that’s clean with no trim ring to take up space. Having a customizable startup screen and background would make it a five star unit.

Best single din screen/carplay unit. Saw this initially from S2000 owners. Fits my eg perfect, makes the daily drive just that bit better. Sound quality is okay, still got to mess with the settings. Screen is not too laggy, touchscreen is okay, could be better but for $140 it’s great. Wish it included plugs for where you insert the tools to remove the radio since you need to break off the two plastic tabs and can’t replace them once broken.

Installed on 98 Honda civic. Great single din if you’re wanting Apple car play. This auto connects to your iPhone when you turn car on. Great bang for your buck. I’d recommend and I’d buy again.

Perfect, except for one major flaw… Installed the head unit in my 2004 Honda S2000, and with Modifry’s accessories the whole job only took 30mins. I chose this over other non-carplay options from Pioneer, Alpine, etc. The look and fit were perfect, and the sound quality is surprisingly solid from a unit under $200!

The huge downside though is that wireless CarPlay drops at least once every time I drive my car. Then, even though my phone and the unit says they’re reconnected, when I press on the icon nothing happens. I’m forced to restart the unit, and then it’s usually fine for at least another hour.

I’m still going to keep using it for the time being and just hope it gets better over time, but I wish they allowed the front USB-C port to transmit data so users could have wired CarPlay and charge their phone at the same time. That would completely eliminate this issue. I figure they made the choice they did so that the passenger could charge their phone without needing to use their device for CarPlay, but there are usually 12v sockets in cars for passengers that they could charge from…

Its been taken care of never dropped or touched hard :/

This thing did not come with instructions. i looked them up online, and this stereo requires one to download an app for it to function accordingly. way too work for a head unit

Excellent choice when you want single DIN CarPlay. Surprisingly well built and works really well with wireless CarPlay. And because of the dedicated subwoofer out it paired well with my small powered sub and is a significant improvement over my previous stereo. Also nice that when powered off it essentially looks like the car has a blanking plate and not a car stereo. My one nit is that the installation instructions are fairly light. Overall a lot of stereo for the money

Longtime ownership review. I’ve had this radio for 6 months and it hasn’t been pleasant the car play feature constantly cuts out. the radio function can never seem to find a station. The dimmer switch function to turn the brightness down doesn’t work either. This radio had a lot of potential.
Installed on a 2010 ford ranger

Best radio for e36. Great fitment. Fits really snug and tight on the e36. Great OS. Easy to set up the radio stations and configure settings. Amazing sound. Comes with apple carplay. You can also add Android Auto which is wireless via a firmware update and that works great. Have had no issues so far. Went on a 3 hour cruise with some friends over the weekend on the mountains and it never skipped a beat, never overheated, unlike some of the cheaper competitiors.

User-friendly and convenient! The sound quality is impressive, making it suitable for system use, although the output isn’t very powerful due to the equalizer. Bluetooth calls can be lacking because of the mic quality, but overall, it’s a decent radio for basic functions like CarPlay, AM/FM, and general music playback. Setup and installation are straightforward—just match the colors on the harness, and don’t forget to purchase a harness adapter for your vehicle! If you’re looking for a touchscreen for CarPlay and basic use, this is a solid choice. However, if you need pro sound for competitions, you might want to consider something with higher output.

I installed this unit in my 2007 Envoy using a Metra interface harness and dash kit, and it fits perfectly. Once connected to either Android or Apple, the user experience is seamless, with quick Bluetooth connectivity after startup. The interface allows the unit to automatically dim and brighten with the headlights, which is a feature I love since I never had that with my previous radios. The controls on the driver’s side make it convenient for the driver, and the design of the software is user-friendly, allowing easy navigation through functions.

I haven’t been able to get the steering wheel controls to work, which I suspect is an interface issue. Overall, it’s a high-quality unit at a fantastic price. I did reach out to the company for the boot logo and custom background, which was straightforward, but it would be nice if they had preset logos and a DIY option for backgrounds to save the hassle of contacting them. I also purchased a 2-year warranty, as I do with all major electronics.

The unit is slim, so fitting it in the back isn’t an issue, even with the extra wiring that comes with GM vehicles. It’s a fantastic radio, especially for those who enjoy customizing the EQ for optimal sound control. It gets very loud even at low volume, so if you’re using factory paper speakers, you might want to consider upgrading them—I may have accidentally blown two!

I was looking to give my 2001 Chevrolet Silverado a modern upgrade, and this product turned out to be an excellent investment. The installation was clean and straightforward (check out the pictures!). It connects wirelessly to my iPhone, allowing me to access Google Maps, Podcasts, Waze, Audible, iMessage, Apple Music, and more! The phone audio and Siri functionality work seamlessly with the built-in microphone, eliminating the need for an extra mic cable. Although the backup camera’s resolution isn’t very high, it performs well, with only a slight 2-second delay in video display when shifting into reverse.

I reached out to support because the documentation mentioned that they would provide the latest software/firmware updates and customize the boot screen. The instructions were easy to follow, with both written guides and YouTube videos available. I opted for the Chevrolet logo (see pictures), but you can request any image you’d like. Support is based in Asia, so there’s a 12-hour response time, but I consistently received replies in my inbox by the next morning. I’m really impressed with the level of support provided.

I installed this unit in my 2012 Ford Fiesta hatchback, and the installation was quick and simple. The rearview backup camera provides excellent picture quality, and the audio sounds fantastic! The wireless Android Auto connects quickly and works flawlessly. I highly recommend this unit and will definitely purchase it again for another vehicle.

The installation instructions were straightforward, and everything functions smoothly. The sound quality is impressive, and the radio responds quickly. However, I have a couple of drawbacks: there are no onboard digital crossover options, and despite my efforts to run the wiring under my frame rails, the backup camera wouldn’t activate no matter what I tried. I appreciate the car logo that appears when I insert the key and the immediate phone connection, but it often starts playing music automatically, which means I have to pause it manually upon startup. The screen is sharp and clear, and it meets one of my key requirements: a physical volume knob. As someone who uses subs, having the ability to simply turn the volume down is essential, and this radio allows that. The preamps perform well; if you have amplification and external crossovers, this unit stands up to high-end Kenwood models. Unlike Kenwood, which offers internal crossover options, I couldn’t find a way to do this with the software provided for this radio. A firmware update might address that issue. To install the boot logo, I had to email the company with my details, and they sent me a file within a day. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to install it yet, as I need an 8-32GB USB drive, and the smallest one I found locally was 64GB. The biggest issue I’ve encountered is with the microphone. There’s no option for an external mic, and the built-in one on the radio doesn’t perform well. Siri struggles to understand me unless the truck is off, the windows are up, and everyone I speak to says I sound like I’m underwater. Overall, I’m particular about audio quality and reliability; I don’t want to wait for the screen to load. For the price, this radio exceeds expectations, and I’m very pleased with my purchase.
