Upgrade Your Ride: Dual Electronics DCA73W Car Stereo Review
The Dual Electronics DCA73W is a commendable car stereo that delivers impressive features at a budget-friendly price. Its 7-inch LED high-resolution touch screen offers a comfortable viewing experience, although it can be prone to glare in direct sunlight. The interface is user-friendly, and the integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhances the driving experience significantly.
Installation is straightforward, making it a great choice for those looking to upgrade their sound system without professional help. The Bluetooth connectivity works well for hands-free calls and music streaming, although some users have reported that the sound quality over Bluetooth can be subpar compared to a wired connection.
One notable downside is the occasional lag when switching between menus, which can be a bit frustrating. Additionally, while the sound quality is better than stock radios, some users feel that the volume output could be improved, particularly when streaming music.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the DCA73W stands out for its solid performance and extensive feature set, including fast-charging USB ports and a subwoofer input. For anyone seeking a reliable and affordable car stereo, this model is definitely worth considering.

This radio is definitely worth its $200 price tag. However, the touch screen feels a bit flimsy and is somewhat sluggish. To hear music over Bluetooth, you’ll need to crank the volume almost all the way up. If you have an iPhone, I wouldn’t recommend it. I connected my iPad, and the music was choppy, but it works fine with Android devices. I appreciate the wireless connection with Android Auto. Overall, it’s an acceptable radio, but you definitely get what you pay for. Installation was straightforward, as it plugged right into the existing Jenson radio harness, which was a plus.

The head unit worked well for about six weeks, with my only significant issue being the glare on the screen from sunlight. Then, suddenly, the screen froze and became unresponsive, even after multiple resets. It’s now been six weeks with product support, and they require me to ship it back at my own expense. I sent the unit back, and according to the tracking, Dual CS support has had it for two weeks without confirming receipt. I’ve sent several emails asking for an update, but I’ve received no responses. I’m starting to feel like I’ve lost my money. I was considering a Pioneer instead, and I regret not going with it. BUYER BEWARE—YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

I used to work at a shop that occasionally installed stereos, and Dual was a brand we typically avoided. However, I must admit that this receiver performs well for its price. While the screen isn’t the brightest or sharpest, the size makes it a minor issue. The touchscreen is satisfactory, and it has enough power and features to enhance most OEM sound systems effectively.

Initially, I was hesitant to purchase this stereo, but I decided to give it a shot. It had all the features I was looking for, and for the price, it was definitely a great deal. After setting it up, I noticed the sound quality surpassed that of my factory radio. The equalizer function allows me to fine-tune the bass, making it sound fantastic with my amp and 12-inch subwoofer.
I do recommend getting the necessary connection wires and an installation kit for your vehicle, as they are essential for a proper fit. I have no complaints about this purchase, and it’s been about three weeks now.

It performs well for the price. However, I’m a bit disappointed as I didn’t realize a USB cable is needed to use Android Auto or Apple Carplay.

I’ve had this radio for 5 months, and it has truly surpassed my expectations. While it can be a bit sluggish when switching between modes, the Android Auto functionality is outstanding. The AM/FM performance is also quite impressive for the price. Overall, I’m very satisfied.

I installed this on my 2008 Nissan Sentra base and found the wiring harness adapter easy to connect. However, I encountered an issue where the stereo would restart when I turned the volume above 25. The solution was to connect the ground wire to a part of the car, as my wiring adapter didn’t include it. Overall, the stereo performs well and sounds great with both my stock speakers and the subwoofer I added. Apple CarPlay works nicely, and while the touch response is generally quick, the initial screen can be a bit slow when swiping for more options. I appreciate the wired connection; I was able to use a USB to Type-C adapter and place it in my center console. I would definitely recommend this product.

I installed this unit in my wife’s 2001 CR-V, and I have nothing but positive feedback. For $169, you get wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus two USB 2.1A fast chargers (one for charging only and one that can be used for charging or wired AA/CP). It features a 60W Mosfet (16W RMS) across four channels, subwoofer input, GPS, and the option for front and rear cameras (sold separately). The inclusion of a volume knob enhances its functionality.
It’s super user-friendly once you learn that you can return to the main menu by simply tapping the Dual icon while in AA or CP, allowing you to adjust settings without disconnecting your phone. I initially had to reach out to Dual for clarification on this, and they promptly advised me on the icon. Once you get the hang of it, the unit is fantastic.
Sound quality is excellent; I have JVC speakers, and this deck really brings them to life—especially with the loudness button activated. I plan to add a reverse camera in the future, but I’ll need to purchase that separately. My only minor issue was needing to buy a separate Metra double din dash kit for the trim plate, as the one included with the unit was too thick for my car. Overall, it’s definitely worth it!
